Offline Codehub
A final-year project designed to make coding resources, project files, and collaboration tools accessible over a campus local network when reliable internet could not be assumed.
The code, the room, and the learning stay together.

Editor presence, peer cursors, chat, and compiler output make collaboration visible in context.

Projects and reference material remain discoverable across the local network.

A lesson and its exercise runner sit side by side so learners can read, try, and check.
The problem
Cloud repositories, browser learning resources, and online coding environments were poor default assumptions in a university context where connectivity was limited and previous student work was difficult to discover.
How the parts work together
Offline Codehub combined a JavaFX FileManager for local project/resource transfer with a PHP/MySQL CodeApp for accounts, locally packaged learning material, browser coding, and collaboration-oriented interfaces.
Toggle the external connection to inspect the local operating model.
Core files, learning resources, and project workflows remain available locally.
Where I contributed
- 01
Designed the system around the constraints of a specific university environment rather than importing a cloud-first answer.
- 02
Built desktop file-management flows, application domain models, socket-client transfer logic, and the web learning/coding interface.
- 03
Documented the intended user, system, and operating model as a fourth-year ICT project.
Decisions that shaped it
Local network first
Make the core repository and resources useful without depending on public internet access.
Split by workflow
Use a desktop FileManager for file/resource operations and a browser application for learning and coding tasks.
Publish the completed slice
Describe the desktop and web components covered by the surviving repositories, while leaving unavailable server components outside the public scope.
Result and scope
The report and surviving repositories document the desktop file workflows, browser learning environment, data models, and local-network operating concept. Server-side collaboration and analytics components are outside the surviving project material.
Reference material
Fourth-year project report
Names the system and documents the FileManager/CodeApp relationship, users, purpose, requirements, and operating concept.
Application repositories
Verify desktop, web, data-model, file-operation, and client-side collaboration work; the missing servers remain an explicit limitation.
